MacBook Pro: I think this might be love!

Electronic love, that is

I recently decided to upgrade to a MacBook Pro (See post below). I wasn’t excited about dropping more money than I ever have on a computer (this model retails for approx. $2500, add the protection plan and tax and you can imagine the dent on my credit card, the price did drop following the Worldwide Developers Conference).

I use “pseudo” in my blog title for a reason. I love technology but my understanding of tech is not that deep. One thing I do know is that 4GB of memory and a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor is pretty sexy and boy, can I fell the difference between this computer and my old MacBook circa 2006. I can run a ridiculous amount of programs at the same time and there is no lag time when switching from one screen to the next. The functioning of this laptop is top of the line (unless you want the 8GB model, then it’s second rate but for my needs, top of the line).

I also love that I can create my own videos. That was an option on my previous MacBook but the computer was slower which meant a video would take a very long time to create, if at all. Now, I can create silly videos is a very short period of time. Look what I created in just minutes (yes, it’s a very silly video):

I am not a graphic designer, video editor or music creator but the MacBook Pro has made my life so much easier and makes it realistic to play around with those features and pretend I work in one of those fields. I love it, I recommend it and although my credit card is sad right now, I am happy.

Also, I recently purchased a new camera with video capabilities. A review is coming soon so you won’t have to watch anymore grainy cat videos like the one above.

I could start a new blog just featuring scam emails

Here’s the latest of the bunch. I’ve notice a lot more scam emails and am curious how many people actually fall for this stuff (I bet it’s enough). PLEASE DON’T RESPOND, IT’S A SCAM!

Mrs Dianna Kennedy
102 Grayston Drive Sandton,
Johannesburg, South Africa.
Phone: +27 729657596.

My Dear,

You may be surprised to receive this letter from me since you do not know me personally. I am Mrs. Dianna Kennedy, the wife of Mr. Thabo Kennedy, who was recently murdered in the land dispute in Zimbabwe . I got your contact in the internet when l was searching for someone to help me, and decided to write you.

Before the death of my husband, he had taken me to Johannesburg during the world summit meeting held in South Africa in (2006) to deposit the sum of US$15 Million (Fifteen Million United States Dollars), in one of the private security companies, as if he foresaw the looming danger in Zimbabwe. This money was deposited in a box as gem stones to avoid much demurrage from the Security Company; this amount was meant for the purchase of new machines and chemicals for the farms and establishment of a new farm in Swaziland . This land problem came when Zimbabwean President Mr. Robert Mugabe introduced a new Land Act reform which wholly affected the rich white farmers and some few black farmers.

This resulted to the killing and mob action by Zimbabwean war veterans and some lunatics in the society. In fact, a lot of people were killed because of this land reformed Act for which my husband was one of the victims, It is against this background that, I and my only child David who are currently staying in South Africa decided to transfer my husband money to a foreign country since the law of South Africa prohibits refugees from opening any bank account or to be involved in any financial transaction throughout the territorial zones of South Africa, I am saddled with the responsibility of seeking a genuine foreign account where this money could be transferred into without the knowledge of my government who are bent on taking everything.

All I seek for is an honest person, whom I can entrust my future and that of my family; I must also let you know that this transaction is 100%risk free. This money I intend to use for investment and growth in your country. I have two options for you, firstly you can choose to have certain percentage of the money for nominating your account for this transaction, or you can go into partnership with me for the proper profitable investment of the money in your country.
Whichever the option you want, feel free to notify me. I have also mapped out 5% of this money for all kinds of expenses we might incur in the process of this transaction. If you do not prefer a partnership I am willing to give you 20% of the money while the remaining 75% will remain for me and my family. If you are really capable and willing to assist me please contact me immediately with the above Telephone, or this e-mail address with which I have sent you this message. Finally, please treat this matter as urgent as possible; I’m in dire need to leave this country soonest,

Check the PDF Attached File for the full letter.

Thanks for your mutual co-operation.
I expect your soonest response. Best Regards,

Mrs. Dianna Kennedy.
