I just gave a presentation on Social Media trends and where they are headed.
Although I’m not at liberty to share the presentation since it was geared towards a specific client and the ideas were not originally my own, the presentation left me thinking about not just trends but much things have changed in the last six months or so.
I left a very traditional public relations agency with the hope of learning about social media and leading the new thought process of PR. Although I don’t consider myself a leader in the space, I have learned so much and find myself mingling with the thought leaders. On my drive home from the presentation, I realized how far I’ve come in a relatively short period of time. Presentations usually give me serious anxiety but I wasn’t nearly as fearful and actually found myself enjoying the process because it was something I was interested in and excited about.
This personal evolution really does does align with what is going on in many companies around the globe. Each company is faced with the challenge of deciding if and how social media can be beneficial to them. Each has there own crossroads where the decision will impact the future of their business. I’m excited to see who does what and which companies come through a true thought leaders in social media.
